About the role
Our client, a leading real estate investment firm with a global portfolio, is looking for an experienced Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst to join their fully remote team. This critical role will involve conducting in-depth market research, financial modeling, and due diligence for potential real estate acquisitions across various asset classes and geographies. You will play a key part in identifying lucrative investment opportunities, assessing risks, and formulating investment strategies. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional analytical skills, a deep understanding of real estate markets, and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques. You will collaborate with senior investment professionals, legal counsel, and external partners to support investment decisions.
Key responsibilities: Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including discounted cash flow (DCF) modeling, LBO modeling, and sensitivity analysis for potential real estate investments. Conduct thorough market research to identify investment trends, opportunities, and risks in target markets. Analyze property-level data, including operating statements, leases, and market comparables. Perform due diligence on potential acquisitions, including site visits (where feasible and safe), financial reviews, and legal assessments. Prepare detailed investment memorandums and presentations for the Investment Committee. Monitor and analyze the performance of existing portfolio assets. Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, property owners, and other industry professionals. Stay abreast of macroeconomic trends and their impact on the real estate market. Assist in asset management activities, including reporting and strategic planning for portfolio assets. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related quantitative field. An MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field is highly preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in real estate investment analysis, investment banking, private equity, or a related finance role. Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling, valuation, and data analysis. Strong understanding of real estate investment principles, market dynamics, and various property types (e.g., multifamily, commercial, industrial). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment. Experience with real estate databases and market research tools is a plus. Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to financial analysis.
