About the role

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Recruitment Leader to build and lead our IT contract staffing practice, focusing on cloud enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and specialized technical roles. This leader will develop proactive recruiting strategies, build a contractor network, and establish Career Innovator as a competitive staffing partner with Fortune 500 clients and enterprise organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build the Recruiting Function: Establish and scale the IT contract staffing practice from the ground up, including recruiting strategy, sourcing methodologies, and talent pipeline development
  • Develop Domain Expertise: Lead recruitment efforts in specialized technical areas including enterprise applications, cybersecurity/cyber risk, QA (manual and automation testing), product/project management, and cloud engineering
  • Manage Client Relationships: Serve as primary contact for target clients including financial services, telecommunications, tech integrators, and Fortune 500 companies
  • Build and Mentor Team: Hire and develop mid-level recruiters with domain specialization who can speak the language of finance, tech, and insurance sectors
  • Create Talent Networks: Identify and engage subject matter experts (SMEs) and contractors for proactive outreach, including establishing relationships with technical screeners
  • Execute Proactive Strategy: Move from reactive to proactive recruiting—anticipate client needs and maintain warm talent pools before opportunities arise
  • Navigate Complex Engagements: Manage various engagement models including staffing, statement of work (SOW), direct hire placements, and managed services
  • Vendor and Compliance Strategy: Understand client compliance requirements, vendor constraints, and master auditor implications to position Career Innovator effectively

Required Experience

  • 8+ years in IT staffing and recruitment, with significant experience in contract/contingent staffing
  • Proven track record building and scaling recruiting practices from startup/early-stage
  • Deep expertise in cloud enterprise IT, cybersecurity, QA testing, and product/project management recruitment
  • Experience recruiting for contractor roles and managing contractor benefits, pricing, and engagement models
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications (Infor, Workday, SAP, Oracle) and data center/infrastructure roles
  • Experience with compliance-heavy industries (financial services, insurance, telecommunications)
  • Familiarity with vendor management and navigating consolidated vendor lists at large enterprises (IBM, Accenture, etc.)
  • Experience with ATS systems (Loxo or similar) and recruitment technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in staffing companies or consulting firms
  • Experience with managed services, deliverable-based engagements, and SOW-based staffing models
  • Knowledge of contractor movement, non-compete clauses, and contractual complexities in staffing
  • Relationships with key contacts in target verticals (financial services, tech integrators, telecommunications)
  • Experience identifying and engaging SMEs as technical screeners and recruiting partners
  • Understanding of Fortune 500 procurement and vendor selection processes
