Job Summary
We are seeking two Reliability Engineers to support a growing reliability engineering function within an R&D laboratory environment. These roles will focus on developing and executing reliability strategies, building test environments, and supporting product reliability initiatives for medical device systems. The engineers will work cross-functionally to evaluate system performance, conduct risk analyses, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and author reliability strategies, test plans, and procedures for new and existing products
- Perform risk analysis activities including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by evaluating reliability and system performance
- Create and maintain software measurement plans and reliability metrics
- Design and build laboratory test environments, fixtures, and CAD models to support reliability testing
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions based on test findings
- Perform system configuration, data collection, and analysis within lab environments
- Execute subsystem and system-level testing, including thermal and performance testing
- Utilize tools such as Python, Minitab, LabVIEW, and other analytical platforms for testing and analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing
- Ensure compliance with FDA and international standards including 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and IEC 60601-1
- Document findings, prepare reports, and communicate results to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in reliability engineering within medical devices, aerospace, or similar regulated industries
- Experience with reliability testing methodologies and risk management tools such as FTA and DFMEA
- Hands-on experience in laboratory environments, including system setup and testing
- Proficiency with tools such as Minitab, LabVIEW, Python, or similar data analysis and testing platforms
- Experience building CAD models and test fixtures
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
- Working knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to medical devices
Work Requirements
- Ability to work onsite in Newark, Delaware on a full-time basis
- Ability to work in laboratory settings and handle test equipment and systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Authorization to work in the United States without restriction
Salary/Rate
$33.00 – $45.00 per hour on a W2 basis. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws. This range represents a good-faith estimate at the time of posting.
