Our client, a leading innovator in automotive technology, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Remote Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard the connected future of vehicles. This is a fully remote position, offering you the opportunity to work from anywhere in Nigeria while playing a critical role in protecting vehicle systems from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing robust cybersecurity measures for automotive embedded systems, infotainment platforms, and connected services. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of automotive cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434), threat modeling, penetration testing, and secure software development practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to embed security throughout the product lifecycle. This role demands exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities, and the ability to communicate technical security concepts effectively to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and architectures for automotive electronic control units (ECUs) and connected vehicle systems. Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses for automotive software and hardware components. Design and implement security controls, including encryption, authentication, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure boot processes. Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on automotive systems and prototypes. Ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards such as ISO/SAE 21434 and UN R155. Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate security requirements into the design and development process. Develop and maintain secure coding guidelines and best practices for automotive software development. Investigate and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities. Stay abreast of the latest automotive cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior cybersecurity engineers. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a significant focus on automotive systems or embedded systems security. In-depth knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and their security implications. Proficiency in security analysis tools, penetration testing methodologies, and fuzzing techniques. Experience with cryptography, secure coding practices, and embedded systems security. Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards and regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team. This role is based in Enugu, Enugu, NG , but the work is performed remotely.
