Senior Remote Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Remote Electrical Design Engineer to join their innovative product development team. This is a fully remote, permanent position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in Nigeria. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components for a variety of cutting-edge products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, power systems, and embedded systems, coupled with excellent CAD and simulation capabilities.

Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of electrical circuits, schematics, and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for new products and systems. Utilize electrical CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, PSpice, OrCAD) for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation. Perform detailed electrical analysis, including power calculations, signal integrity analysis, and thermal analysis. Specify and select electronic components, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Design and implement power supply circuits, control systems, and embedded systems solutions. Develop and execute electrical testing and validation plans, including prototyping and debugging. Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues throughout the product development lifecycle. Create and maintain comprehensive electrical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and test reports. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies, components, and design methodologies. Mentor junior electrical engineers and provide technical guidance. Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., safety, EMC/EMI) and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and tools. This role is crucial for supporting our client's ambitious projects originating from Jos, Plateau, NG , operating on a fully remote basis. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical design and development. Expert proficiency in electrical CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout. Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, and embedded systems. Experience with simulation tools for electrical circuits and systems. Knowledge of power electronics, power management, and motor control is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective remote collaboration. Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines. Familiarity with testing equipment and methodologies. Experience with compliance testing (e.g., CE, FCC) is a plus.
