About the role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager to join their fully remote team. This role is critical for driving the successful execution of renewable energy projects from inception through completion. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This includes overseeing all project phases, managing cross-functional teams, engaging with stakeholders, and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end management of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.), including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Develop detailed project plans, setting clear objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Manage project execution, monitor progress, and ensure milestones are met. Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and manage financial risks. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively. Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with all relevant permits, regulations, and environmental standards. Communicate project status, updates, and challenges effectively to stakeholders, including senior management. Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and improve future project execution. Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in renewable energy project management. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors and partners. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil), Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 4 years specifically in the renewable energy sector. Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex energy projects. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, energy storage). In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and tools. Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Exceptional financial acumen and experience in budget management and cost control. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment. Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and permitting processes.
