Senior Renewable Energy Systems Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Renewable Energy Systems Analyst to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be instrumental in evaluating, designing, and optimizing renewable energy systems, contributing significantly to the transition towards sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth technical and economic feasibility studies for solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects.
• Develop detailed system models and perform energy yield assessments.
• Analyze grid integration challenges.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including engineers, project managers, and business development professionals—to ensure successful project implementation.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Energy) or a related scientific field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in the renewable energy sector with a proven track record in system analysis, modeling, and project evaluation.
• Proficiency in energy modeling software such as PVSyst, SAM, or equivalent.
• Experience with grid connection studies and power systems analysis (highly desirable).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong understanding of energy market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies.
• Passion for sustainability and the ability to work independently in a remote‑first environment.
