We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Resource Geologist to join our team at an advanced-stage mining project. This role will be hybrid (site based in B.C) and will play a key part in the evaluation, development, and growth of mineral resources.
Reporting to the Vice President of Exploration, the successful candidate will be responsible for mineral resource estimation, geological interpretation, and supporting exploration and development programs. This position also involves collaboration across technical, exploration, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility
- Compile, interpret, and analyze geological data from multiple sources to support resource estimation
- Conduct and update mineral resource estimates and contribute to improving resource models
- Support exploration planning through geological interpretation and targeting
- Assist with reconciliation of production data against resource and reserve models
- Evaluate and implement improved techniques for resource estimation and modelling
- Manage external consultants and contractors related to resource estimation and audits
- Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and presentations for internal and public disclosure
- Train and mentor geological staff, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained
- Collaborate with technical services and production teams on reserve updates, reconciliation, and planning
- Support exploration and development programs aimed at expanding or upgrading resources
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and environmental standards
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Professional (QP) status, with ability to sign off on mineral resource statements and disclosures
- Experience in exploration and mine geology, preferably within orogenic gold or similar deposit types
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Datamine, Leapfrog, or equivalent
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership and commitment to safety
- Working knowledge of relevant mining regulations and reporting standards
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset)
- Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in resource estimation, modelling, and geological interpretation
- Strong computer skills with relevant geological and modelling software
- Experience managing and mentoring technical staff
