About the Role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will support the design, deployment, and management of advanced robotic systems at scale, enabling AWS to build data centers efficiently. You will develop robust robotic solutions, deploy them across multiple customer locations, and oversee operational teams and tools to ensure reliability, efficiency, and scalability. The role involves close collaboration with external partners, contractors, and enterprise customers to bring robotics into production.

Travel: Approximately 30% travel to AWS offices, data centers, suppliers, vendors, and product validation tests (mostly domestic, some international).

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil and gas)
  • Experience with vision‑language actuation models
  • Experience deploying robots into production
  • Experience shipping production code and applying common software practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Knowledge of sensor data analytics and machine learning (e.g., neural nets, genAI training)

  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities

Responsibilities

  • You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles
  • The ideal candidate has a proven track record of developing robust robotic solutions, deploying them across multiple customer locations, and overseeing operational teams and tools to ensure reliability, efficiency, and scalability
  • This role involves close collaboration with external partners, contractors, and enterprise customers to bring robotics into production
  • As Amazon has a global presence, intermittent travel will be necessary and should be expected to be approximately 30% to AWS offices, data centers, suppliers, vendors, and product validation tests
  • While most travel will be domestic, some international travel may be required
