Position Overview

Salesforce Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Salesforce Software Engineer to develop and enhance our customer success portal. You'll be instrumental in shaping the digital interactions for our Public Sector customers.
As a part of the DET team, you will design, test, and maintain robust solutions on our superior integration platform, critical for the Public Sector Line of Business's success. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Salesforce-on-Salesforce technologies including Service Cloud, LWC, Aura, APEX, JavaScript, SOQL, SAML, REST/SOAP APIs, and MuleSoft, among others.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain a scalable customer-facing portal utilizing Salesforce Experience Cloud.
- Create custom Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura components optimized for external users.
- Implement secure access for guests and authenticated users (SSO, OAuth, SAML).
- Integrate the portal with CRM, support systems, identity providers, and third-party services using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and Product Management to deliver intuitive, branded, and accessible customer experiences.
- Optimize portal performance, including page load times and mobile responsiveness.
- Write, execute and maintain automated test suites.
- Work with Customer Success and Support teams to enhance self-service content and knowledge articles.
- Document and present implementation designs to peers and stakeholders.
- Align development environment and launch processes with stakeholders.
- Monitor usage analytics and iterate based on customer feedback.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA) for external data.
- Provide support for investigations on new & existing integrations.
- Coordinate with project managers to provide updates to stakeholders.
- Adhere to Agile methodology.
- Enhance skills through ongoing training and professional development.
Required Skills:
- 6+ years of Salesforce development experience with a focus on Experience Cloud / Communities.
- 4+ years of experience with Salesforce-on-Salesforce technologies including Mulesoft Anypoint, Data Cloud, and Government Cloud.
- 3+ years of experience writing and running automated tests with Selenium or Playwright.
- 3+ years of experience with XSL/T and XPath.
- Proven experience in launching external customer portals (B2B or B2C).
- Proficiency in LWC, Aura, Apex, SOQL, and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with caching strategies and performance tuning for high-traffic portals.
- Familiarity with customer identity and access management (CIAM) methods such as SSO and OAuth 2.0.
- Knowledge of Salesforce DX and CI/CD processes.
- Ability to consume APIs, including those from Google, Salesforce.com, Snowflake, and Slack.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- A related technical degree is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Salesforce CMS, Knowledge, and Case Management for self-service applications.
- Knowledge of headless portal architectures or React-based frontends.
- Exposure to customer analytics tools like Google Analytics and Amplitude.
Required Certifications:
- Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant.
- Platform Developer II.
- Salesforce Basic Administrator.

The compensation for this role will be determined by factors such as location, job level, and candidate qualifications. The typical base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $223,900 annually, exclusive of bonuses, equity, or benefits that may also be offered.
