Role

For the "Information Management" department, we are looking for a Senior SAP Developer / Engineer - ABAP, Cloud & AI (w/m/d) at the Ulm location as soon as possible.

As part of the planned migration to S/4HANA, HENSOLDT intends to harmonize and digitize processes globally. The structured management of data, aligned with corporate goals, is of significant importance in this strategy.

Your Responsibilities

• Continuous further development and modernization of our SAP landscape (especially S/4HANA)
• Analysis, conception, and implementation of technical solutions, considering modern SAP architectures
• Independent identification of optimization and innovation topics and their implementation
• Development and implementation of SAP applications in the areas of ABAP / ABAP OO / CDS Views / RAP / SQL / UI5 / JavaScript
• Conducting code reviews and ensuring clean code principles
• Design and implementation of technical and organizational measures to ensure code quality (e.g., guidelines, review processes, automation)
• Building and further developing cloud readiness (SAP BTP, integration scenarios, side-by-side extensions)
• Co-shaping the technological direction with a focus on cloud and AI-based solutions
• Functional testing of requirements and structured, traceable documentation
• Close collaboration with business departments, key users, and international teams
• Taking over (partial) project management and technical responsibility for subject areas
• Active further development of the development team (mentoring, best practices, knowledge sharing)

Your Profile

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Many years of practical experience in software development, both in classic and agile methodologies
• Very good knowledge of ABAP / ABAP OO, including modern development approaches (CDS Views, RAP, extensibility, clean code)
• Profound experience with SAP Business Application Studio, Fiori Elements, UI5, and JavaScript
• Experience with SAP architectures and in the S/4HANA environment
• Knowledge of OData and REST services
• Ideally, experience with SAP BTP, cloud architectures, and integration scenarios
• Understanding of modern software quality assurance (testing, code reviews, CI/CD)
• Ability to proactively identify, structure, and independently drive topics
• Interest and openness to future technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence and Cloud
• Strategic and analytical mindset with a high degree of results orientation
• Strong communication skills and team spirit in an international environment
• Very good German and English skills
