Role
The ServiceNow SAM Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and integrating with other enterprise services. This position is ideal for an individual with a solid background and expertise in ServiceNow's SAM Pro module who will drive the implementation and management of ServiceNow Pro for tracking software assets, ensuring license compliance, optimizing usage, and delivering actionable insights for cost efficiency. This position develops automation workflows, ensures scalable configurations, and creates dashboards and APIs to support compliance and reconciliation across ServiceNow SAM.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with internal teams, program leadership, and external vendors to support ITAM and SAM Pro implementation efforts and ensure alignment with best practices.
- Define, document, and continuously improve asset lifecycle processes, workflows, and data standards across hardware, software, and service assets.
- Advise the team on SAM Pro Plus best practices, leveraging AI-driven insights for compliance and optimization
- Configure and automate ServiceNow SAM modules for asset lifecycle tracking and optimization reporting
- Configure and maintain integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and Integration Hub (e.g., pulling data from SCCM, JAMF, or SaaS tools)
- Design, implement, and refine the SAM Pro module to align with business objectives and ensure accurate asset tracking, license management, and compliance.
- Develop workflows for reconciliation, entitlement tracking, and compliance reporting using SAM Pro capabilities
- Ensure proper data flows between SAM Pro and procurement systems, to facilitate seamless license management from purchase to deployment and retirement.
- Lead module development, integrations, and enhancements across the ServiceNow suite.
Requirements
- Expertise in configuring and administering ServiceNow SAM Pro to manage software assets, licenses, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of the integration between ServiceNow and other tools like SCCM, discovery tools, and enterprise systems for asset tracking and management.
- Solid understanding of software licensing models (e.g., user-based, device-based, subscription-based, core/processor-based, cloud application subscription)
- Experience with ServiceNow reporting and dashboard creation, including building custom reports and queries using ServiceNow's reporting tools.
