Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Site Engineer to oversee and manage all on-site construction activities for a major infrastructure project. This critical role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of construction methodologies, project management, and safety protocols. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is based on-site in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG, and requires full-time commitment at the project location.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Manage and mentor a team of site engineers, foremen, and construction workers, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to resolve design and construction issues.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of work and materials used.
• Manage site logistics, including the coordination of equipment, materials, and labor.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to project management.
• Review and approve shop drawings and ensure they conform to project requirements.
• Oversee the testing and commissioning of completed works.
• Manage site-specific budgets and control costs effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, including progress, resource usage, and any changes to the plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent professional registration.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction site management and supervision.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale civil engineering or building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proven ability to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and motivate personnel.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.
• Experience in contract administration and claims management is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
