Your Impact
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at OpenText, you will be essential in building, scaling, and maintaining our reliable systems that support our global platforms. In this hands-on role, you will administer and manage our containerized infrastructure across both on-premises and public cloud environments. Collaborate with a dynamic team of experts, troubleshoot complex issues, enhance system reliability, and ensure high service performance for an exceptional customer experience. You will design, maintain, and optimize cloud and container solutions while applying industry best practices in infrastructure, deployment, and operations.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to drive continuous improvement through enhanced monitoring and observability, identify security vulnerabilities, and optimize system performance. We seek a candidate with strong expertise in container technologies, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure practices to build scalable, future-ready systems.
What the Role Offers
- Support applications on containerized infrastructure across private data centers and public cloud platforms.
- Plan, test, and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for containerized services.
- Shift from event-based to proactive, log-based monitoring, appreciating deep experience here.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize container security solutions.
- Build automation and security solutions to enable DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with cloud-native technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, GitOps, CI/CD, IaC, PaaS.
- Design solutions across major cloud providers: GCP, AWS, Azure.
- Knowledge of GKE, AKS, and EKS.
- Familiarity with on-prem orchestrators like Tanzu and Anthos.
- Create and maintain standards, policies, procedures, and best-practice documentation.
- Automate workflows to ensure alignment with ITIL and compliance.
- Lead platform initiatives, influence engineering practices, and mentor engineers.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field; AWS or GCP certifications preferred.
- 5+ years in software engineering, SRE, or cloud operations, especially with cloud and container platforms.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes across various distributions.
- Hands-on experience with GitOps tools.
- Expertise in infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell; Go is a plus.
- Experience with virtualization and enterprise storage technologies.
- Strong experience in Linux environments and designing DevOps toolchains in large enterprises.
- Experience with multi-cluster or multi-cloud networking, service mesh technologies, and policy-as-code frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization, security practices, backup/disaster recovery tools, and Kubernetes operators or custom CRDs, along with excellent communication skills.

At OpenText, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being. We will provide detailed information about our compensation programs throughout the hiring process.
Salary Range: $143,400 - $215,000; actual salary may vary based on education, experience, skills, geographical location, and internal and external market alignment.
