About The Role

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a rapidly expanding team dedicated to engineering transformative Oracle Cloud technologies. As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will be instrumental in addressing complex challenges and ensuring the success of Oracle Cloud by collaborating closely with development partners.

In this role, you will tackle technical challenges by defining, designing, deploying, and optimizing essential Oracle Cloud services, focusing on reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance.

The ideal candidate will possess a mix of development experience, systems and infrastructure expertise, and be an effective communicator, all while demonstrating the resolve to drive our Oracle Cloud customers towards success.

Responsibilities

  • Service Ownership – Collaborate as part of the SRE team, sharing full stack ownership of various services and technology areas with development partners.
  • Ownership Scope – Understand end‑to‑end configurations and ensure services are designed with an emphasis on security, resiliency, scalability, and performance.
  • Service Design – Partner with development teams to improve service architecture, articulating technical characteristics and dependencies of services to enhance the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
  • Operations Engineering – Communicate key attributes and requirements of owned services, including performance, security, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Automation – Embrace automation and orchestration, eager to eliminate technical debt and streamline processes.
  • Prevention – After resolving an issue, focus on developing systems to prevent future occurrences.
  • Technical Expertise – Act as a key resource for complex issues and major incidents, employing a deep understanding of service topology and dependencies.
  • Broad Interests – Combine sysadmin and development skills, driven by a curiosity to deepen knowledge of services and dependent technologies.
  • Represent SRE – Be proactive, organized, and a good communicator, representing Cloud products and engineering in critical forums.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position is from $79,100 to $158,200 per annum, with eligibility for bonuses and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
