Senior Software Developer - Java Backend

Your role in the team

• We translate your analysis and implementation of technical requirements into high-performance software solutions.
• You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of backend components based on Jakarta EE.
• You are involved in the integration of backend services and APIs into existing system landscapes.
• The close collaboration with the frontend teams (Angular) and other project stakeholders makes your area of responsibility varied.
• You oversee the entire development process - from conception through implementation to deployment.

What we offer

• We offer a minimum gross annual salary according to Service Regulation A for employees at the social insurance institutions of Austria on a full-time basis starting from EUR 48,042.40 (no all-in contracts); depending on professional qualifications and experience, previous employment periods are creditable and significantly increase your actual salary.

Our expectations:

Qualifications

• Additionally, you have knowledge in the field of DevOps as well as in the implementation and management of CI/CD processes and container technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• You are familiar with project management methods such as Waterfall and agile approaches (e.g., Scrum).
• You impress with a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style, strong team skills, excellent communication abilities, and high problem-solving competence.

Experience

• You have very good knowledge of Jakarta EE (formerly Java EE) and solid skills in SQL, as well as experience working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and common development tools and platforms: JetBrains IntelliJ, Jira, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus.
• Experience with Vaadin 8 and/or Angular is an advantage.

Education

• You have a degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification and several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in an enterprise environment.
