Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in Chicago, IL, in building and enhancing the Trips Experience, ensuring we meet the dynamic needs of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Guide the engineering team to develop, operate, and streamline our Trips Experience, adapting to customer demands.
- Oversee capacity planning and project management from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to analyze requirements, prioritize solutions to business challenges, create development roadmaps, and manage the entire delivery process.
- Maintain detailed project schedules and drive tasks to completion with accountability.
- Ensure the team adheres to delivery commitments through effective sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
- Encourage continual team-owned process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Promote best practices in both test automation and manual testing processes.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and retain a high-performing engineering team.
- Evaluate team members' skills and communication, providing meaningful performance feedback.
- Foster an inclusive team culture focused on career growth, product ownership, quality, and operational excellence.
- Lead by example in all aspects of development.
- Conduct Quality Inspections, Architecture Reviews, Design Reviews, Code Reviews, and Security Reviews to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Manage the prioritization and resolution of defects identified in the team's products based on customer impact, revenue considerations, and overall user experience.
- Exemplify leadership by mentoring others and establishing high standards for documentation and clean code.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience, including:
- Five (5) years of experience with Catchpoint
- Three (3) years of experience with Serenity Testing Framework
- Three (3) years of experience with BrowserStack Administration
- Three (3) years of experience with Glassbox
- Two (2) years of experience with Figma
Location & Compensation
- This position allows for remote work opportunities within commuting distance of our office located in Chicago, Illinois.
- Salary range: $153,317 - $242,500.
