The Work

At Lockheed Martin's RMS business in Moorestown, NJ, we are working on many exciting defense programs and developing groundbreaking products and applications to meet the complex and evolving needs of our customers.

A major portion of our work includes writing robust software applications. We are currently looking to fill roles on the Future Combat Systems Engineering Team.

The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to a wide variety of projects as our business needs evolve.

The core responsibility for this role will be to develop software using Java and/or C++. Coding in/and using related development tools and environments will be the major focus for this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years Software Engineering experience
  • Experience with design and development of software using C++ and/or Java
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Desired Skills

  • Experience developing code in Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, bash and others in various OS environments
  • Experience using pipeline tools and technology for CI/CD, deployment automation, containers, infrastructure orchestration, monitoring and analytics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various tools, open‑source technologies, and cloud services
  • Experience migrating legacy SW architecture into service‑based or cloud‑native architectures
  • Experience designing or supporting an application that utilizes both bare metal and cloud‑native infrastructures
  • Experience keeping multiple bare metal, disconnected (non‑cloud) servers in sync in terms of Operating Environment and Application Versions
  • Experience with Jira, Git, BitBucket, Crucible and/or Confluence
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full‑time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $71,900 – $119,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
