Your Mission

As a Senior Software Engineer at Engine, you will:

• Design and implement innovative software systems and APIs focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product and Data Science to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Lead key initiatives to improve efficiency, enhance system performance, and drive customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Bring to Engine

• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and high-performing distributed systems.
• Proven track record building public-facing APIs with management of versioning, deprecation, and consumption-based rate limiting.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Kotlin (or similar modern backend languages), and AWS is a plus.
• Strong grasp of software design principles, scalability, and system architecture.
• Prioritize Domain-Driven Design in fast-paced, innovative environments.

Teams

• Pricing Team: Builds real-time systems for pricing across travel marketplace including auction-based pricing engines and ML-informed models.
• IDM Team: Owns authentication and authorization, operates Auth0 tenant, and partners with enterprise customers for secure identity integrations.

Compensation

• Base Pay Range: $121,400 — $168,000 USD
• Total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE).
