Software Engineer Connectivity

enabl

flexible Full-time Senior 1w ago

About the role

Your Mission

You enable our forklifts to be remotely controlled safely and in real-time across Europe.

As a Software Engineer Connectivity, you develop the nervous system of our technology: the software responsible for stable, low-latency data transmission between the vehicle and the remote station. You ensure that our video stream remains fluid even in fluctuating networks and that our forklifts can always be controlled safely.

In doing so, you turn complex network conditions into a reliable connection and drive our product forward technologically.

Our Offer

  • Look forward to flexible working hours and a high proportion of home office: so you can ideally adapt your workday to your needs.
  • A competitive salary and attractive share options (VSOP) await you, so you are directly involved in the company's success.
  • A dynamic and exciting work environment with flat hierarchies and a real startup mentality gives you the opportunity to really make a difference and contribute your own ideas: shape our success from the very beginning!
  • Bright office spaces with autonomous office equipment create a modern and pleasant working atmosphere.
  • A well-coordinated team will support you during your onboarding and will be there for you with advice and assistance at any time.
  • Take advantage of our company pension scheme.
  • Look forward to a relaxed commute with a job ticket and free parking.
  • And finally: In our break room, you will always find a large selection of free snacks and drinks.

Your Tasks

  • You develop and maintain our network software stack (primarily in C++ and Python), which ensures reliable communication between vehicle and remote station.
  • You analyze connection data and incidents from the field to identify network problems such as packet loss or latency spikes and implement sustainable solutions.
  • You integrate our connectivity software on the vehicle platforms and ensure that it runs performantly in the different network environments of our customers.
  • You ensure the stable transport of video and control data with a focus on network protocols and stability.
  • You drive the technological roadmap forward by developing new features and implementing modern technologies to continuously increase the robustness and performance of our systems.
  • You expand and maintain our test infrastructure and CI pipelines to automatically simulate network scenarios and ensure the quality of our updates.

Your Profile

You are a software developer at heart, but you understand exactly what happens "under the hood" in the network. You don't think in hardware boxes, but in code, protocols, and performant data streams.

  • Software Engineering Core: You have sound experience in Modern C++ (17 or newer) and develop performant, stable applications. Additionally, you are proficient in Python for scripting, testing, or tooling.
  • Networking Fundamentals: TCP/UDP, IP, and routing are familiar to you. You understand how data packets travel and where they can get lost.
  • Connectivity & Wireless: You have an understanding of wireless transmission technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE/5G) and know how fluctuating network stability affects applications.
  • Real-time Transport: You understand network protocols for real-time data (e.g., RTP/RTCP/SRT or WebRTC). Your focus is purely on the transmission layer: you are the expert in ensuring that the transport path for our streams is stable and low-latency under all conditions, regardless of the actual payload.
  • System & Tools: You are comfortable in Linux environments. You use tools like Wireshark or tcpdump not just, but you understand what they tell you to triage complex problems.
  • Language: You speak German (from B2) and English to communicate confidently within the team and with technical documentation.

About Us
