Join our dynamic team at Jack Henry & Associates, where you will play a crucial role in guiding the effective delivery of quality software products. As a Senior Software Engineer Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the timely and effective deployment of software into production environments.
  • Defining and refining standards for software design and development processes.
  • Collaborating with developers, QA, operations, and management to provide technical direction throughout the project lifecycle, from analysis to deployment.
  • Establishing business and technical requirements while ensuring adherence to standards and facilitating knowledge transfer among development staff.
  • Completing technical design, prototyping, software development, and bug resolution.
  • Conducting thorough system analysis and engaging in extensive programming activities that necessitate in-depth research.
  • Providing ongoing technical support for both new and existing applications from code delivery until retirement.
  • Offering project effort estimates and managing budget-level tasks.
  • Developing and testing applications based on business needs and industry best practices.
  • Creating comprehensive technical documentation in adherence to departmental and corporate standards.
  • Defining and documenting standards while collaborating with QA and customer support teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Conducting release validation testing and supporting beta projects.
  • Researching and resolving problems with effective solutions.
  • Performing unit testing and integration testing to assess functionality.
  • Training and mentoring junior engineers to foster growth within the team.
  • Identifying and evaluating new technologies and development environments.
  • Possibly contributing to product architecture and taking on team lead responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in software engineering or development, particularly with Azure DevOps and within the financial services sector.
  • At least six years of experience with .Net, C#, or ASP.NET.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field plus eight years of relevant experience may be accepted.
