Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Bloomberg Government is revolutionizing the government sector by delivering the most sophisticated research platform on the market. As a Senior Software Engineer on our Data Platform team, you will be responsible for building a visualization layer and internal tools to curate our products. You will also help migrate our data to the cloud, utilizing AWS technologies and implementing Databricks Lakehouses.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with product owners, data experts, and other engineering teams to build solutions for complex problems
• Build and support a distributed platform for all Bloomberg Government data
• Collaborate with data analysts to identify data collection efficiencies and automation potential for manual workflows
• Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) and embrace DevOps principles
• Work with AWS cloud services to implement microservices using serverless technologies
• Build a Lakehouse with Databricks

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience programming in Python
• 4+ years of experience with relational databases, SQL, and Linux
• Passion to learn new technologies
• BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology field
