Senior Software Engineer – ERP Modernization & Integration (m/w/d)

You play a central role in modernizing a complex ERP landscape. We are clearly developing towards AI-Driven Development – not as a buzzword, but as the future standard of our engineering practice. You actively help us to go this way: towards agent-based workflows, AI-supported tools, and an architecture designed for it.

What awaits you

• Work on a central integration and middleware layer that connects our existing ERP cleanly with modern services and standard solutions.
• Development of scalable REST APIs and microservices based on Java and Spring Boot, to gradually transform a legacy ERP architecture into a more modular, service-oriented structure.
• Modernization of an Oracle-based ERP platform towards a flexible, cloud-capable, and long-term AI-ready system landscape.
• Use of messaging systems like Rabbit MQ to build asynchronous, loosely coupled processes and event-driven patterns.
• Participation in architectural and technology decisions and in the further development of our platform stack.
• Support in building an AI-First working method: AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and agent-based development approaches are to become an integral part of our future workflow – you help to introduce and further develop this practice meaningfully.
• Design of services and interfaces with a view to future AI-based automations and intelligent business processes.

What sets you apart

• Several years of experience in Java backend development and confident use of Spring Boot.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, ideally including Oracle and PL/SQL.
• Understanding of modern infrastructure and architecture concepts, including containerized environments and cloud contexts.
• Genuine interest in AI-Driven Development and enjoyment in putting new tools and working methods into practice, rather than just talking about them.
• A clear, open communication style and a desire to share knowledge within the team.
• Independent, structured work in an environment with a lot of scope for design.
