Software Engineer

About the Team

Provide the customer care agents with 360° customer/order visibility & an integrated set of communication tools to minimize resolution time, resulting in increased customer retention and loyalty.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, implementation and documentation for product features.
• Build, test and deploy cutting‑edge solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide.
• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
• Engage with Product Management to drive the agenda, set priorities and deliver awesome products.
• Contribute to both front‑end and back‑end stacks, handling requirements from end‑to‑end development.
• Work closely with architects and follow established practices for delivering solutions that meet QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) within architectural guidelines.

Requirements

• B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.S. in Computer Science or a relevant discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience designing and developing highly scalable applications and platforms.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• Proficiency in an object‑oriented language such as Java.
• Proficiency in front‑end technologies like React.
• Good knowledge of cloud architecture, microservices, and CI/CD tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins).
• Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology.

Minimum Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area and 3 years of software engineering experience.
• Option 2: 5 years of software engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related area and 1 year of experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences, implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and commitment to building products that follow Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines.
