Senior Software Engineer (Java) – Umbrella Midoffice (m/w/d)

The MIDOCO Group unites the companies Midoco GmbH from Hilden Germany and Umbrella AG from Wetzikon in Switzerland under one roof. MIDOCO GmbH develops midoffice software for the travel industry. Umbrella AG synchronizes global travel profiles between GDS systems for business travel agencies. In total, the Midoco Group has customers in over 60 countries and processes 13 billion euros in travel revenue annually.

Responsibilities

• Further development and maintenance of Umbrella Midoffice
• Implementation of new features
• 2nd-level support via JIRA (bugs, technical questions, reporting requests; no phone)
• Independent debugging and root cause analysis
• Participation in the specification of new features together with the specialist team

Qualifications

• Several years of experience with Java
• Very good knowledge of Spring, Hibernate/JPA and PostgreSQL
• Experience with JUnit and Selenium
• Confident handling of Git and Maven
• Very independent way of working and ability to analyze and solve problems independently
• Experience in handling established codebases as well as the ability to meaningfully develop existing structures and consistently integrate new code into the existing architecture
• Ability to implement requirements independently and bring them to completion with self-responsibility; coordination takes place as needed
• Experience with reporting (SQL) and responsible handling of direct database access
• Ability to analyze log files on Linux servers during error analysis
• Nice to have: Know-how in tourism or experience with midoffice systems
