We are excited to invite applications for the position of Senior Software Engineer Level III. In this contract role, you will play a key part in an agile squad, focusing on enhancing features and capabilities using mainframe technologies. Your contributions will encompass application development, testing, and migration, all while adhering to our engineering standards and risk practices.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Implementing new features with a strong emphasis on software quality.
• Documenting and sharing technical expertise within the agile squad.
• Engaging in developer communities of practice and participating in code reviews.
• Keeping up to date with relevant technology trends.
• Researching and resolving customer issues promptly.
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications:

• Experience in agile business analysis and software development.
• Proficiency in mainframe technologies like COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Experience with migration and testing processes.
• Understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Development expertise in COBOL, SAS, or alternative open-system languages.
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of Snowflake environment tools (e.g., Elevate, Switchboard, DBT) is a plus.
• ETL and sFTP file movement experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of networking and firewall concepts.
• Experience with version control solutions, ideally Git or GitHub.
• Awareness of the full software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with software security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with card processing solutions (e.g., TSYS, Mastercard) preferred.
• Quality assurance experience is a bonus.
• Advanced knowledge of SAS is beneficial.

Education

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
