Our team, Vertex Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Media, sits at the architectural core of Google’s enterprise creative Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy. We are the experts transforming generative models into bespoke, high-performance engines for Vertex Artificial Intelligence (Vertex AI) customers. In this role, you will manage the industry's most post-training issues from Multimodal Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) to Latent Distillation ensuring our customers can generate brand-aligned, production-grade media that offers a definitive competitive edge. Your mission will be to build the world's most sophisticated, custom-tailored Generative Media by fusing Google’s premier video and image foundations including Veo and other image models with proprietary enterprise data.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code to develop, productize, and scale advanced Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) Media (image and video) technology for Cloud enterprise customers.
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices, while designing architectures and customization strategies specifically tailored to complex enterprise requirements.
- Triage generative quality issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing sources, conducting rigorous training, and evaluating customized GenAI Media models to ensure high-resolution fidelity, temporal consistency, and data privacy.
- Design and implement solutions in specialized ML areas, investigate and implement state-of-the-art technologies, and integrate optimized ML algorithms into highly reliable production systems.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates, user feedback, and iterative, innovative technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, with 1 year of experience in software design and architecture, specifically designing, building, and deploying machine learning models into production
- 3 years of experience with one or more of the following specialized ML areas: Generative AI, LLMs, Multimodal ML, or related fields.
- 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging) to support generative models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and experience developing Generative AI Media (image or video) models and LLM training pipelines.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role, and experience articulating technical concepts to cross-functional partners.
- Experience developing accessible technologies, and experience navigating generative media (e.g., temporal consistency, high-resolution visual fidelity).
- Experience with GenAI-related publications or translating AI research into enterprise-grade cloud products.
