About the role
About Us
We are Spaceteams! We develop high-quality software solutions with real added value, pragmatically, quickly, and without frills. We tackle diverse projects with high technical and professional complexity in various industries such as e-commerce, gaming, health, and more, always looking for new challenges. We live a culture that celebrates teamwork, fast iterations, and measurable results. Our way of working is direct, solution-oriented, authentic, and customer-centric.
Your Role
- Plan, develop, and continuously improve tailor-made and complex software solutions together with your team.
- Take responsibility for complete projects – from conception to release, always in line with the product and customer vision.
- Develop requirements together with product owners, customers, and stakeholders.
- Actively co-design technology decisions and architectural questions.
- Always communicate clearly and reliably with customers, stakeholders, and within the team.
- Understand customers and their needs, and adapt not only the software but also the business processes in their companies.
- Continuously improve the organization and our way of working through regular syncs and retrospectives, and share your knowledge.
- Actively shape our culture by contributing to internal projects (e.g., Spacetime or organizational development).
What We're Looking For
- Several years of in-depth experience in the development and end-to-end responsibility of complex software systems over long project durations.
- Experience from multiple projects that go beyond pure feature development, e.g., with multiple stakeholders, professional complexity, or a noticeable impact on business processes.
- Ability to make technical decisions within the team and evaluate their impact on the overall system.
- Proficiency in various areas of software development (frontend and backend) and a willingness to take responsibility across system boundaries.
- Experience collaborating with various stakeholders (e.g., product owners, business departments, customers) and in requirements engineering.
- Ability to structure complex problems and translate them into viable solutions.
- A very good degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification, or relevant practical experience.
- Very good German language skills (min. C1) for discussing complex technical content with customers.
- Good English language skills.
- Work authorization for Germany (we do not offer visa sponsorship).
- Residence in Germany and a general willingness to participate in on-site appointments in Hamburg regularly.
Nice to Have
- You enjoy working in a team on solutions and see shared responsibility as a prerequisite for good results.
- Experience in larger overall initiatives (e.g., migrations, system replacements, or complex platform projects) where technical decisions have a long-term impact.
- Familiarity with agile working methods and a pragmatic approach to change.
- Initial or in-depth experience with cloud or DevOps topics.
- Active contribution to the further development of processes and collaboration.
- Enjoy sharing your knowledge with the team and supporting them at all times.
