Your Role

Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) Backend and Data Acquisition Systems

Your Profile / Your Competencies:

• Completed studies in software engineering, computer science, or a comparable qualification or corresponding professional experience.
• Extensive practical experience in software development with C++ and Python or Rust.
• Sound knowledge of structured software development processes, including issue tracking systems, version control with Git, and CI/CD environments.
• Good understanding of modular architectures, performance-critical systems, and production-ready deployment practices.
• Strong communication, team-oriented, and self-motivated personality with a customer-oriented approach.
• Enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams.
• Good German and English language skills

Your Tasks:

• Lead the development of the entire software stack for camera and detector data acquisition services, including hardware connection, data processing, service orchestration, and monitoring.
• Close collaboration with system integrators to ensure seamless deployability in operational environments, including the provision of robust APIs and service interfaces for configuration, management, and diagnostics.
• Responsibility for the entire build and deployment lifecycle using modern DevOps methods and tools such as Docker, Ansible, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Conan for C/C++ package management.
• Ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability through structured test strategies, automated validation, and continuous integration.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including software specifications, architecture descriptions, test plans and procedures, user manuals, and technical reports and publications.
