About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and operating services at the core of our cloud infrastructure and product platforms. This hybrid role combines extensive software development skills with a strong emphasis on operational excellence. You will be involved in the design of scalable platform services, focusing on aspects such as security, reliability, and observability while collaborating across engineering, security, compliance, and other teams.

What You Will Do

• Architect, design, and develop platform services with an emphasis on scalability, security, and improved developer experience.
• Lead operational design to ensure reliability, incorporating observability, monitoring, and incident response automation.
• Develop automation and tools that enable self-healing systems, proactive risk detection, failure recovery, and continuous resilience testing.
• Collaborate with compliance, governance, and risk teams to implement scalable technical controls based on regulatory and policy requirements.
• Conduct technical design reviews and security architecture assessments, followed by postmortems for platform-level incidents.
• Mentor engineers across various disciplines about security protocols and operational best practices.
• Oversee end-to-end service delivery, encompassing design, development, deployment, production hardening, and lifecycle maintenance.

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of 6 years' experience in software engineering, SRE, or security engineering roles, with extensive exposure to operating security platform services.
• Strong backend software development skills in languages such as Go, Java, Rust, or Python.
• Proficient in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, service mesh, and container orchestration.
• In-depth knowledge of security concepts, including IAM, OAuth2, OIDC, PKI, secrets management, policy engines, audit pipelines, and zero trust architecture.
• Experience building highly reliable, observable, and resilient production systems.
• Operational expertise in SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, on-call leadership, and incident management.
• Strong collaborative skills to ensure alignment across engineering, security, and compliance teams.
• Excellent communication abilities to influence both technical and business leaders.
• A BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

What Gives You an Edge

• Familiarity with SPIFFE/SPIRE, OPA/Gatekeeper, Envoy, Istio, and workload identity management.
• Experience with security compliance frameworks, such as FedRAMP.
• Proven track record in leading cross-organizational security platform architecture initiatives.
