An opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who thrives at the crossroads of AI, software development, and data engineering. This role is within a leading organization in the financial industry in the Netherlands.

You’ll join a team that’s evolving from traditional data engineering toward a software-defined and AI-driven approach. Suitable for an individual with strong Python development experience, someone who combines technical excellence with a passion for mentoring others — helping shape the next generation of intelligent data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and integrate AI-driven solutions into data and platform workflows.
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable software in Python (and/or other programming languages).
• Coach and mentor engineers, sharing best practices in software craftsmanship and AI development.
• Automate and standardize workflows to enable declarative, reproducible data processes.
• Contribute to the evolution of our cloud and data platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements

• Strong software development expertise — ideally in Python, but other modern languages are welcome.
• Real senior or lead-level skills, with a track record of coaching and guiding other engineers.
• Familiarity with data and platform technologies (bonus points for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate here.
