Senior Software Engineer (Python/Go)

Our client is a pioneer in Drug Discovery and Development and one of the frontrunners in Personalised Healthcare. As the world's largest R&D spender in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics domain, they work in a vast number of drug discovery & therapeutic areas and are highly recognized internationally. A leader in the field of both in vitro diagnostics and manufacturing and selling of several innovative drugs.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer (Python/Go) with an ownership mindset based in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland.

• Please note that we are looking for 2 people within this posting. One assignment is planned to start asap until 31.12.26 and the other is planned for 12 months from the start (the latest start date would be 01.08.26).

The team you're joining is running Kubernetes operations at a large scale. Think of deploying and managing thousands, even tens-of-thousands of Kubernetes clusters around the world. That requires end-to-end automation, APIs, great user experience (UIs) and rock-solid orchestration.

With this position we are looking for a skilled software engineer, who brings a lot of motivation and willingness to take on responsibility for entire software projects, from design to implementation and deployment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Coding! ... including contributions to open source software that we use or maintain.
• Writing and implementing design documents (RFCs).
• Documenting your creations, as well as ensuring great automated test coverage.
• Serving as a role model - and helping the team to follow software engineering best-practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in large-scale or high-growth environments.
• Strong background in scalable systems and modern engineering practices.
• Recent hands-on experience with Python and/or Go.
• Business domain: compute infrastructure & platforms.
• Experience with Kubernetes (usage, concepts, and operations).
• Familiarity with public cloud environments such as AWS.
• Experience in test automation, ideally with pytest.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and eager to take responsibility
• Fluency in English is a MUST.
• Nice to have: Interest in or experience with tools such as HashiCorp Vault, FluxCD, Kustomize, Terraform, Grafana, GitLab, Slack, and Linear.
