Who You Are
As a Senior Software Engineer in our Radar Modeling and Simulation group, you will leverage your expertise in developing high-performance C++ software. Your work will significantly contribute to radar modeling, scene modeling, and signal processing components within digital twin environments. This is a chance to operate within a system of systems, integrating with external components to enable high-volume, high-fidelity radar simulations.
What You Will Do (The Work)
- Collaborate with technical leads and architects to guide design and integration decisions while engaging in hands-on C++ development.
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ software for radar and scene modeling, as well as signal processing.
- Actively participate in design and code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a systems-thinking approach within the team.
- Lead efforts to translate customer needs into actionable Agile tasks and contribute during sprint planning, story breakdowns, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Verify and interpret software changes through regression testing to ensure intended behavior is achieved.
- Analyze system-level data to build confidence before delivering solutions to customers and teams.
- Enhance and maintain legacy codebases by applying best practices in software engineering.
- Act as a technical liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support automation, regression testing, and tooling improvements.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with C++ or similar Object Oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, C#).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills
- Advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Strong mathematics background in linear algebra, statistical analysis, and signal processing.
- Functional understanding of radar systems and familiarity with radar modeling design tools.
- Experience in radar systems development, including algorithms, software, data analysis, and simulations.
- Demonstrated technical leadership skills and program execution experience.
- Exceptional analytical, applied mathematics, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Security Clearance Statement
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen to qualify.
Work Environment
The position is based onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedule
Lockheed Martin supports a range of alternate work schedules, including 4x10 hour days with 3 days off per week, providing employees extra time away from the office.
Salary Range
$91,000 - $172,488.
