Your Role

• You take on a central role in the development, optimization, and assurance of reliable payroll accounting processes and work closely with HR payroll specialists to ensure stable, legally compliant, and performant payroll solutions (currently SAP HCM on premise).
• Your focus is on the technical support and further development of SAP HCM Payroll, including schemes, rules, and payroll components.
• You are also responsible for the analysis, testing, and implementation of legal changes, collective agreement changes, and company-specific adjustments.
• You support monthly and annual payroll runs and take care of clarifying payroll-related error cases.
• You ensure compatibility after support package installations and year-end activities and install patches.
• The creation of technical concepts and documentation is also part of your tasks, as is 3rd level support for complex payroll cases.
• You independently carry out code reviews and performance optimizations, especially in the payroll context.
• You also accompany and advise the payroll department on the introduction of new technologies, process optimizations, and automations (e.g., contributing to the roadmap for H4S4 / S/4Hana HCM).

What We're Looking For

• You have several years of professional experience in SAP HCM Payroll and ABAP development.
• You have a deep understanding of time management processes and payroll processes, as well as their implementation in schemes and rules.
• You are familiar with HR infotypes (especially those relevant to payroll).
• You have experience in implementing legal requirements and the subsequent activities of payroll (e.g., social security notifications).
• Analytical, detail-oriented thinking and strong problem-solving skills characterize you.
• Knowledge of SuccessFactors is an advantage but not mandatory.
• You enjoy close collaboration with payroll departments.
