About

The ICT Business Service department is responsible for the central application landscape of Zurich Airport's platform. Our solutions ensure that airport operations run smoothly – from aircraft and passenger handling, through the apron and baggage sorting, to numerous other specialist applications. We are also responsible for the platforms for data integration and data storage.

As an ICT Solution Architect, you ensure well-thought-out solution concepts for applications, systems, and facilities. You align business requirements with architectural, security, and data protection specifications. You advise and support our System Engineers, develop sustainable IT solutions together with them, and accompany them throughout their entire lifecycle – from procurement to successful commissioning.

Your Job Destination

• You advise application managers on architecture, governance, security, and data protection, enabling them to use the best possible architectural pattern for the solutions.
• You are responsible for the technical solution concepts of the applications, facilities, and systems assigned to you. A special focus is on replacement projects in the aviation sector, namely the renewal of the Airport Operational Database, the stand and gate planning system, and the Departure & Arrival Traffic Management Systems. You will closely accompany their implementation in coordination with project management, application managers, enterprise architecture & business.
• You actively participate in planning the technical lifecycle of our systems, translate architectural standards into concrete roadmaps, and shape them together with the application managers.
• You are part of the Matrix Architecture Team and network closely with other Solution, Enterprise, Data, and Security Architects.
• You represent the department's solutions in the Enterprise Architecture Board and coordinate the department's architectural contributions.

Your Skills

• You have a degree in Computer Science/System Technology (University of Applied Sciences or University) or an equivalent qualification.
• You are proficient in network, server, and client environments (Windows, RHEL) and are familiar with common communication protocols.
• You are experienced in using cloud technologies (Azure) as well as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, have had previous contact with mission-critical systems/facilities, and are aware of the challenges for operation and maintenance.
• You can critically assess technical solution concepts, find unconventional solutions, and ensure your ideas work with appropriate measures.
• You have very good German and good English skills.
