Senior Solutions Architect

Overview

GovCIO is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Solutions Architect specializing in IT Service Management (ITSM) with an active Secret clearance. This position will focus on leading the design, integration, and optimization of ITSM solutions across our enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements.
• Map current state ITSM processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and develop improved future state architectures to enhance service delivery.
• Evaluate and recommend ITSM frameworks, automation opportunities, and tool integrations, including ServiceNow, ScienceLogic, SCCM, and Qualys.
• Develop detailed architectural artifacts, process models, configuration standards, and integration strategies that align ITSM tools with operational needs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to oversee solution implementation, validate designs, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
• Define KPIs and establish reporting mechanisms.
• Support audits and compliance reviews.
• Advise leadership on ITSM maturity and transformation roadmaps and serve as a senior advisor for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor technical teams and guide configuration and workflow design.
• Support change management efforts to drive the adoption and long-term success of ITSM enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Social Science with 15+ years of experience in ITSM solutions design, integration, and optimization (or equivalent experience).
• ITIL Foundations Certification v4 and ITIL Expert v3 or ITIL v4 Managing Professional.
• Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.
• Proven experience as an ITSM Solutions Architect, IT Operations Manager, or a similar role.
• Deep understanding of ITSM frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, particularly ITIL.
• Strong proficiency in ITSM tools, especially ServiceNow.
• Experience with system integration and automation using APIs, scripting languages, or workflow engines.
• Experience in developing and implementing ITIL processes and defining business and IT services.
• Visionary leadership with a commitment to excellence.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a knack for designing innovative solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across all organizational levels.
• Project management experience, including leading and delivering projects within scope, budget, and timelines.
• Familiarity with IT security principles, compliance standards, and data privacy regulations is a plus.
• Technical support or engineering background is advantageous.

Posted Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is USD $200,000.00 - USD $229,000.00 /Yr., but actual base pay will vary depending on individual factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. Additional compensation elements may also be discussed during the hiring process. Employment is at-will, and GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation programs at any time for reasons related to performance, company performance, and market factors.
