As a Senior Solutions Engineer - Energy Storage Integration, you will play a crucial role as the technical lead for BESS subsystems, ensuring reliable and efficient operation across various project environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end systems engineering for BESS products, from requirements definition to deployment and successful operation.
  • Develop and maintain system-level requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), specifications, and compliance matrices.
  • Integrate multiple subsystems, including energy storage, power conversion systems (PCS), safety measures, controls, and communications.
  • Review and approve designs for BESS electrical components and controls, including schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and integration documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes and standards (UL, IEC, NFPA, IFC, etc.) applicable to BESS.
  • Support prototype builds and certification testing while assuring system-level validation and qualification plans align with required codes, standards and project specifications.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous improvement in BESS integration practices.

Project Support

  • Act as the technical authority on BESS system architecture and its integration into utility-scale projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and system-level issues for deployed BESS assets.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on field failures and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Act as the technical liaison through the full product lifecycle, engaging in permitting and local jurisdiction discussions while managing integration risks to improve operational performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and training on BESS safety and emergency response to internal and external teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in BESS or in the development and integration of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Strong expertise in electrical systems, energy storage, controls, and power electronics.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple OEMs and integrators.
  • Proven capability in supporting field systems and addressing post-installation challenges.
  • Familiarity with BESS standards, such as UL 9540 / 9540A and relevant electrical codes.
  • Experience with BESS safety standards and compliance, including UL 9540 / 9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 110 / 111, NFPA 72, NFPA 68 / 69.
  • Willingness to travel to factories and project sites (approximately 25% travel required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with utility-scale BESS deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with battery and electrical testing equipment.

The expected salary for this position ranges from $113,000 to $141,525/year, influenced by factors including market location, experience, and skills. This position also includes an annual bonus and offers extensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (including vacation, sick leave, and parental leave). Details regarding these benefits will be provided upon receiving an employment offer.
