Our client, a forward-thinking organization at the intersection of sports and technology, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Sports Data Analyst to join our fully remote team. You will play a critical role in extracting insights from vast datasets to inform strategic decisions, player performance optimization, and fan engagement initiatives across various sports. This position requires a deep understanding of sports, advanced analytical techniques, and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, all within a remote work setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process large datasets from various sports sources (e.g., player statistics, game events, tracking data).
• Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to identify trends, predict outcomes, and evaluate performance.
• Create compelling visualizations and dashboards to communicate key insights to coaches, management, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with sports professionals (coaches, scouts, performance staff) to understand their data needs and provide actionable recommendations.
• Design and analyze experiments to test hypotheses related to player performance, game strategy, and training methodologies.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sports analytics, data science, and relevant technologies.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of data analytics best practices within the organization.
• Identify opportunities to leverage data for competitive advantage and business growth.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the analysis process.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely through written reports and verbal presentations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Sports Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis, with a significant focus on sports analytics.
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Strong understanding of sports dynamics, rules, and performance metrics across multiple disciplines.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment.
• Experience with SQL and database management is highly preferred.
