Amenity Construction Group is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing team! With over 40 years of expertise in aquatic and specialty outdoor construction, we at Amenity Construction Group provide single‑source solutions through design, consulting, and building for pool construction and renovation, hardscapes, softscapes, and outdoor living & entertainment. At Amenity Construction Group our purpose is to inspire and create happier and healthier moments. We are looking for a full‑cycle Senior Staff Accountant to grow with our businesses. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance team by performing full‑cycle accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, US GAAP, and regulatory requirements. This role provides financial insights and reporting to support operational and strategic decision‑making and ensures the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial processes.

Essential Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and support full‑cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes and prepare supporting schedules for management and auditors.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Support the Controller and finance leadership with analysis of financial results.

Compliance, Controls & Regulatory Requirements

  • Ensure accounting activities comply with US GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation and support internal and external audits.
  • Follow established record retention, confidentiality, and data privacy standards for all financial information.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and tax documentation as needed.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls, including segregation of duties and approval workflows.

Process Improvement & Systems Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with accounting system updates, ERP integration, and automation initiatives.
  • Document standard operating procedures and support training of accounting team members.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with AP, AR, payroll, and operations teams to ensure accurate accounting of business transactions.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and team members.
  • Serve as a resource to leadership for financial analysis, reporting, and operational insights.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience; senior or staff‑level preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting compliance.
  • Experience with full‑cycle accounting, reconciliations, month‑end/year‑end close, and audit processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, intermediate/advanced formulas).
  • Experience with Workday, Salesforce, or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem‑solving ability.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and support continuous improvement.

Schedule Requirements

  • Full‑time position with standard office hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to meet deadlines or resolve time‑sensitive issues.

Physical Requirements

  • The role requires sitting for extended periods and occasional use of office equipment such as phones, computers, and printers.
  • Occasional lifting of files or materials up to 10‑15 pounds may be required.

Location

This is a full‑time position with on‑site/hybrid schedules available, based out of our Owings Mills, MD office.

Compensation

The Senior Staff Accountant has a salary of $80,000 – $95,000 per annum with additional compensation potential with commissions on
