Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar is essential. You will conduct site investigations, assess existing structures, and provide solutions for rehabilitation and retrofitting projects. Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of various bridge types, including highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, and overpasses.
• Perform complex structural analyses using advanced engineering software (e.g., finite element analysis).
• Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications in compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, BS, Nigerian standards).
• Conduct thorough site investigations and feasibility studies for new bridge projects.
• Assess the structural integrity of existing bridges and propose rehabilitation or retrofitting strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, geotechnical engineers, and construction teams.
• Review shop drawings and construction submittments from contractors to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers.
• Ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and constructability in all designs.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in bridge engineering technology, materials, and design methodologies.
• Manage project timelines and budgets related to structural engineering tasks.
• Coordinate with permitting agencies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent registration is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a significant focus on bridge design.
• Proven experience with various bridge types and construction methods.
• Expert proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, MIDAS Civil).
• Strong understanding of relevant national and international bridge design codes and standards.
• Experience with geotechnical investigations and foundation design for bridges.
