The Senior Systems Developer provides IT systems development and support under general direction. The incumbent focuses on leading and performing the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, integration, maintenance and documentation of systems and applications to ensure that client needs and services are met. The Senior Systems Developer completes tasks involving highly complex/diverse applications and may be responsible for a phase of a project.
Technologies you have experience with:
- Experience with modern libraries and frameworks (React/Angular).
- Experience designing and building full stack web-based applications.
- Experience with HTML 5, CSS and Javascript.
- Experience working with multiple integrations in enterprise applications.
- Working knowledge of development and utilization of REST APIs.
- Working knowledge of SDLC, DevOps and design patterns.
- Experience with CDNs like Akamai.
- Experience with no-code platforms an asset.
- Experience with MS Suite an asset.
How you will create impact:
- Perform technical analysis and formulate design and solutions for a complex system or for integration with multiple systems, including verifying integration across multiple hardware platforms and development environments.
- Ensure the overall design considers all aspects (environment, strategy, key business need, user demand, integration with related systems, financial implications, etc.) and all design/system components are feasible, maintainable, usable, scalable and work with the overall technical design of the system(s) or solution.
- Write new code and leverage existing code; create new configurations and troubleshoot existing configurations for no-code platforms.
- Execute unit and integration tests that are comprehensive in nature, and support system and user acceptance testing. Coordinate with QA to ensure testing cycle is completed in a timely manner.
- Communicate implementation progress and status to all affected parties and provide direction on go/no-go decisions
- Provide post-implementation support leading resolution of defects found in production
- Research, identify and document solutions for application defects and where necessary, use debugging tools to determine root cause of defects and/or liaise with vendors.
- Document, redesign, recode, escalate and report on defects while minimizing the introduction of new defects
- Document defects providing through analysis considering upstream and downstream impact. Ensure escalation of priority issues to appropriate parties. Provide configuration proposals to mitigate or eliminate issues. Ensure issues detected by reporting or monitoring systems and assist in implementation when required.
To join our team:
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, with at least 5 years' experience in IT, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of technical components and interfaces to other applications.
- In-depth knowledge of multiple job-related programming languages, environments, tools, applications and the technologies used.
- Competent in various SDLC, delivery methodologies and architectural standards.

Expected salary range $72,847 to $121,411
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
