Senior System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer ( Kolkata Location)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer to manage and optimize bare-metal servers, datacenter infrastructure, and enterprise systems.

This role involves working on hardware lifecycle management, server provisioning, monitoring, and automation across large-scale environments. You will play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities • Manage and maintain Linux/Windows servers and datacenter infrastructure • Perform hardware lifecycle management (installation, configuration, upgrades, decommissioning) • Monitor server health using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar • Configure and manage BMC interfaces (iDRAC, iLO, IPMI) • Handle server provisioning (PXE/iPXE, kickstart, cloud-init, Windows deployment) • Manage RAID, BIOS/UEFI settings, firmware updates • Perform incident management and root cause analysis • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems • Support network configuration (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS) • Work with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) for infrastructure management • Ensure system security, patching, and compliance

Required Skills • Strong experience in System Administration (Linux & Windows) • Hands-on experience with datacenter servers and hardware management • Experience with BMC protocols (Redfish, IPMI, SNMP, SSH) • Knowledge of server provisioning (PXE/iPXE, cloud-init, WinPE) • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.) • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals • Experience with virtualization and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes is a plus) • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)

Nice to Have • Experience with bare-metal fleet management platforms • Knowledge of firmware lifecycle and hardware configuration automation • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) • Basic scripting or programming knowledge (Python or Go) • Experience in telecom, datacenter, or hosting environments

Ideal Candidate Profile • 8–15+ years of experience in System Administration / Infrastructure • Strong problem-solving mindset with hands-on technical expertise • Experience working in production environments • Ability to handle critical incidents and high-pressure situations
