A cutting‑edge aerospace company developing next‑generation aircraft platforms is seeking an experienced Senior Systems EWIS Engineer to support the design and integration of aircraft electrical wiring systems. This role combines technical leadership with hands‑on engineering, focusing on the architecture, design, and certification of Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems across a highly innovative aircraft platform. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of robust, certifiable EWIS designs supporting advanced aviation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS) across avionics, propulsion, flight control, and other aircraft systems
  • Define wiring architecture, harness routing strategies, separation concepts, and installation design aligned with aircraft safety and certification requirements
  • Produce and review EWIS design documentation, including:
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Harness drawings
    • Installation drawings
    • Routing documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable EWIS regulatory frameworks, including FAA, EASA, and other international certification standards
  • Support aircraft system integration activities, ensuring effective interfaces with avionics, propulsion, sensors, and control systems
  • Collaborate closely with structures, avionics, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure installability and manufacturability
  • Participate in design reviews, verification activities, and certification documentation
  • Contribute to the development of EWIS design standards, processes, and documentation workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement of EWIS design methodologies to enhance reliability, safety, and development efficiency

Required Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in aircraft electrical installation or EWIS design within aerospace programs
  • Strong understanding of aircraft wiring architecture, harness design, routing constraints, grounding, shielding, and separation requirements
  • Experience generating EWIS design data using tools such as CATIA V5, Siemens Capital, or similar aerospace design tools
  • Familiarity with avionics communication networks and electrical interfaces (e.g., CAN, ARINC 429, Ethernet)
  • Knowledge of EWIS certification requirements and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supporting system integration, verification, and validation activities within aircraft development programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within aircraft certification programs
  • Background in advanced aircraft development programs, including electric or hybrid propulsion architectures
  • Familiarity with safety assessments and compliance documentation within aerospace development
