About
A global organisation is looking for an experienced system engineer manager (m/f/d) to lead the Employee Tech – Core Service team in Toronto (Canada) & Munich (Germany).
The Core Services team is part of their Employee Tech organization, responsible for delivering world-class IT support and ensuring a seamless digital workplace experience for all employees (over 2,400) across 24 offices worldwide. The scope of the team spans from identity and access management, endpoint management, and security, to ownership of key employee applications, including Okta, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Slack, Atlassian, DocuSign, OpenAI, Adobe, Zoom Contact Center, and other business-critical productivity and collaboration platforms.
With engineers located in Europe & Canada, the team operates across multiple time zones to offer consistent, high-quality support. It plays a crucial role in maintaining employee productivity, driving automation and process excellence, and shaping the overall employee technology experience across the organization.
What you'll do
- Lead the Core Service team and take ownership of global IT services, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable operation of identity & access management, endpoint management, software deployment, and multiple SaaS platforms used for collaboration and productivity.
- Drive automation through usage of AI, APIs, scripts, and low-code/no-code workflows to reduce manual work, improve auditability, and improve the employee experience with IT systems.
- Partner with the User Service team (L1 & L2 employee support) to reduce manual effort and automate resolution of user issues and requests.
- Partner with Security and Compliance to maintain secure configurations, provide audit evidence, support access recertifications, and align Core Services with internal standards and external frameworks.
- Own transversal activities for all your services: contract, license, and budget inputs; vendor coordination; IT support handover; monitoring; lifecycle planning; and documentation.
What you should bring
- 5+ years of experience leading enterprise systems / digital workplace engineering teams, ideally in a global environment.
- Hands-on expertise with identity platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and Active Directory, including SAML, OIDC/OAuth, SCIM, MFA, lifecycle management, RBAC/group models, service accounts, and privileged access management.
- A customer-first mindset.
- Passion for using AI technology (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) to automate processes, build solutions, and accelerate problem-solving and system design, while applying strong engineering judgment and security awareness.
- A metric-driven approach — experienced in defining, tracking, and interpreting KPIs and performance metrics to continuously improve service quality and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — fluency in English is mandatory, German is a plus.
