As a Senior Tax Manager at YHB, you will join a vibrant and diverse community of public accounting professionals. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and apply them effectively in your daily work.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive client relationships by:
    • Providing clear and concise updates to Firm Leadership about client return progress.
    • Exhibiting a sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines and client expectations.
    • Ensuring a meticulous review of completed work for accuracy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, identifying potential issues for YHB tax clients and proposing viable solutions.
  • Manage multiple client engagements and team development while meeting client deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Review workpapers from Associates and Supervisors, ensuring all feedback is addressed properly.
  • Keep YHB employees informed about key changes in tax standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Provide mentorship to Associates and Supervisors, sharing valuable insights and best practices.

Technical Skills and Quality of Work

  • Develop a thorough understanding of tax accounting fundamentals and possess sufficient knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and related standards.
  • Demonstrate strong research, analytical, and communication skills to ensure client compliance and identify potential issues.
  • Proactively identify problems and propose effective solutions through analytical techniques and thorough research.
  • Communicate ideas and concepts clearly, producing documentation that requires minimal revision.

Client Management and Service

  • Gain the necessary knowledge to address client issues effectively or identify resources to assist.
  • Exercise good judgment by recognizing potential issues early in the engagement and presenting solutions to superiors.
  • Simultaneously manage client engagements, employee development, and firm responsibilities to meet expectations and deadlines.
  • Understand clients' business needs to identify and resolve engagement issues effectively.
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients through timely communication.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services to clients.

Business Development

  • Understand the importance of generating new business by expanding your professional network and participating in leadership roles.
  • Generate leads and convert them into business opportunities.
  • Engage in YHB marketing activities and assist with promotional efforts.
  • Support proposals and presentations for current and prospective clients.

Leadership and Development

  • Show a genuine interest in fostering the growth of team members and refining your people management skills.
  • Welcome junior staff on engagements, providing on-the-job training and support.
  • Delegate effectively and offer relevant feedback to enhance performance.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of team members and participate in the design of continuous education sessions.
  • Encourage teamwork and maintain a cooperative spirit within YHB.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Active CPA certification.
  • Strong integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of firm policies and procedures.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, with effective time management skills.
