About the role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to lead critical cloud infrastructure initiatives. This hybrid role, based in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG , requires a strategic and technically adept leader who can drive complex, cross-functional technology programs from inception to completion. You will be responsible for defining program scope, managing timelines, coordinating engineering teams, mitigating risks, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable and robust cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Define program objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders and engineering teams. Develop detailed program plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies, for cloud infrastructure projects. Manage and track program progress, identifying and addressing potential risks, issues, and roadblocks proactively. Coordinate and facilitate communication among various engineering teams (e.g., SRE, DevOps, Network Engineering, Software Development) and business units. Ensure alignment of technical solutions with business requirements and strategic objectives. Drive best practices in program management, agile methodologies, and technical execution. Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to cloud infrastructure services. Conduct regular program reviews and provide status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders. Facilitate technical design discussions and ensure architectural best practices are followed. Manage the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effectiveness. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the engineering teams. Lead post-launch reviews and ensure successful handover to operational teams. Contribute to the strategic roadmap for cloud infrastructure development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree or MBA is a plus. Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical program management, with a strong focus on cloud computing and infrastructure. Proven experience managing large-scale, complex cloud infrastructure programs (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security. Proficiency in agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Strong technical background and ability to engage effectively with engineers on technical challenges. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and drive consensus among diverse teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying and mitigating risks. Experience managing budgets and vendors. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and hybrid work environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
