Role Overview

As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will own and drive full-cycle recruitment for some of the most complex and niche roles in deep tech. You’ll partner closely with executives, technical leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to build world-class teams in quantum hardware, software, algorithms, and supporting disciplines.

This role requires a technically fluent, highly consultative recruiting professional who can navigate ambiguity, influence strategically, and attract top talent in one of the world’s most competitive domains.

What We Need You To Do

Technical Talent Acquisition

  • Lead full-cycle hiring for high-specialization roles across a variety of business areas.
  • Develop sourcing strategies tailored to rare talent markets—leveraging industry networks, research communities, conferences, and talent ecosystems.
  • Evaluate deeply technical candidates, effectively assessing for technical capability, competencies and culture fit.
  • Build proactive pipelines of highly specialized talent—anticipating future growth areas in hardware, algorithms, architecture, and engineering.

Strategic Partnership & Workforce Planning

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to hiring managers and technical leads on talent availability, benchmarking, and compensation insights.
  • Collaborate with people leaders and the People team on headcount planning, role design, leveling, and organizational scaling.
  • Educate and influence hiring managers leaders on hiring best practices, candidate experience, and interview rigor.
  • Support hiring managers on understanding and complying with Photonic’s People and Recruitment processes.

Process Excellence & Employer Brand

  • Ensure our recruitment processes are followed for consistency, employer brand and candidate experience.
  • Maintain a high bar for candidate experience, ensuring transparency, empathy, and speed across the pipeline.

What You Bring To Our Team

  • 6+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including at least 3 years supporting engineering recruitment including hardware and software.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and technical leadership in a rapidly scaling environment.
  • Strong technical fluency and the ability to hold credible conversations with scientists and engineers.
  • Experience influencing hiring strategy, workforce planning, and interview design.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and candidate-experience skills.
  • Experience driving and contributing to recruitment program and process development.

Compensation

The base annual salary range for this full-time role is $86,000 to $118,000 CAD. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside of this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
