About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Technical Recruiter to build and scale our recruiting function during a critical growth phase. This person will be responsible for designing recruiting infrastructure, running full-cycle recruiting for high-priority roles, and partnering closely with hiring managers to support rapid, high-quality hiring. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both building systems that scale as well as personally closing key hires.
What You’ll Do
Build & Scale Recruiting Infrastructure
- Design and implement scalable recruiting processes to support rapid growth (70 → 120+ employees)
- Establish consistent hiring workflows, interview processes, and candidate experience standards
- Partner with People Ops to ensure recruiting processes align with compliance and company values
- Select, implement, and optimize recruiting tools: ATS (we use Ashby), scheduling, sourcing tools, etc.)
- Build hiring manager playbooks, interview training, and decision frameworks.
Full-Cycle Technical Recruiter
- Own end-to-end recruiting for high-impact roles across functions (e.g., engineering, operations, G&A)
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, success criteria, and hiring plans
- Source, screen, interview, and close candidates with a high bar for quality and equity
- Manage candidates through offer negotiation and closing
- Maintain an excellent candidate experience throughout the process
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers on hiring strategy, timelines, and tradeoffs
- Set clear expectations around roles, interview load, and decision-making
- Identify risks or bottlenecks early and proactively propose solutions
Sourcing
- Own end to end strategy for sourcing technical roles (specifically battery engineers, cell engineers, manufacturing engineers, and more).
- Form deep partnerships with managers to understand technical requirements and trade-offs.
- Translate complex technical needs into effective sourcing strategies and search criteria.
- Proactively identify and engage passive candidate pipeline through direct sourcing, referrals, and networking
Data, Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline health, candidate experience)
- Use data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve
- Continuously refine sourcing strategies and interview practices as the company scales
Who you are
- 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
- You have at least 3 years in a high-growth startups or scaling company
- You are a strong Sourcer and are capable of building pipelines across technical and non-technical roles
- Proven experience building or significantly improving recruiting processes
- Experience partnering directly with senior leaders and hiring managers
- Excellent judgment, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments
This role is right for you if
- You’re a builder! You’re unfazed by lack of infrastructure and are excited about building. In your last role, you might have found yourself saying “if only I could go back and build it right from the start”. It also helps if you’re a documentation guru.
- You find delight and care deeply about experience. You might be the nucleus of your friend group, the person your community comes to in hard times, or the planner and emotional glue for your family.
- You are hyper-organized! You are both comfortable working in ambiguity and capable of maintaining focus on important details.
- You are looking for a role in a fast growing startup. You’re familiar with the startup juggle of priorities, and can proactively communicate about what you are (and are not) focusing on.
Onsite Expectations
While much of the team is in person (given the nature of our business), this is a hybrid role. We believe our People team should be connected to the employees and part of that connection requires in person interaction. However, we’re open to a range of scenarios. Whether you live in the bay area and can be onsite 3-5 days a week, you are living elsewhere in the United States but can travel to the office one week per month, or anything in between, we would be excited to consider you for the role!
