Senior Release Manager

About the Role

SpacePointe and EkiKart are building a complex commerce and payments platform spanning POS, payments, retail, warehouse distribution, embedded finance, multi-location operations, and enterprise integrations.

We are hiring a senior, highly technical Release Manager with strong DevOps and CI/CD expertise to own release governance, production deployment controls, and engineering operational discipline across the organization.

This is not a project management or release coordination role.

We are looking for someone with strong technical credibility who understands modern engineering operations, deployment architecture, CI/CD governance, and production environment management. This person will work directly with engineering, DevOps, QA, and leadership teams to ensure releases remain fast, stable, auditable, and operationally disciplined.

This role has operational authority over production release governance and deployment controls.

What You’ll Own

You will be responsible for:

• Release governance and deployment oversight
• Production environment protection and operational controls
• CI/CD governance and release standards
• Release approval workflows and rollback readiness
• Production change management and deployment auditability
• Environment promotion and release discipline
• Hotfix and emergency release procedures
• Release readiness validation across engineering and QA
• Operational release processes that maintain agility without compromising production integrity

You will work closely with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams while remaining independent from day-to-day infrastructure implementation in order to maintain proper operational checks and balances.

Your responsibility is to ensure:

• No production changes bypass approved process
• All deployments follow controlled CI/CD workflows
• Production environments remain secure, stable, and auditable
• Release processes scale with engineering growth
• Deployment governance does not become bureaucratic or slow down development velocity

Required Qualifications

You must have strong experience in:

• Technical release management within engineering organizations
• DevOps and CI/CD environments
• Production deployment governance
• Cloud infrastructure and operational workflows
• Environment and access management
• Release approvals, rollback planning, and incident coordination

Strong technical understanding of:

• Git workflows and branch protection
• CI/CD systems and deployment pipelines
• Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments
• AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Infrastructure as Code
• Secrets and environment management
• Monitoring and observability systems
• Blue/green and canary deployments
• Database migration and rollback strategies

You should be comfortable:

• Working directly with senior engineers and DevOps teams
• Enforcing operational discipline and deployment controls
• Reviewing release readiness and production risk
• Challenging unsafe deployment practices
• Driving automation-first operational processes

Strong DevOps and CI/CD understanding is mandatory.
