Your opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Technical Support Engineer who not only solves technical problems but also shares knowledge with the team, maintains an overview in complex situations, and serves as a reliable point of contact for both customers and colleagues.
At signetbreedband, you manage the networks that companies run on every day. From SD-WAN solutions to complex multi-site configurations with redundant connections, no two days are the same. As the connectivity specialist for the business market, we deliver internet and network services that really matter.
What does your day look like?
- Customer contact with IT professionals : You communicate daily with IT staff from other companies regarding the network environments we manage. As a result, the issues are more complex than in a standard support department, which is precisely what makes the work interesting.
- Complex changes and escalations : you tackle the more challenging issues where your experience makes the difference. Think of multi-site VPN configurations, routing issues, or firewall optimizations on FortiGate and Cisco platforms.
- Knowledge sharing and coaching: as a senior, you are the go-to person for the team. You help colleagues with complex incidents, share knowledge, and contribute to the team's growth.
- Delivery of network solutions: you configure and deliver network environments to clients, ranging from simple connectivity to complex enterprise setups.
- Development : You have ample opportunities to develop yourself broadly or in a specialized area. Through your colleagues, certifications, or your own chosen field of study via the annual study budget of €1,500. We also partner with various learning platforms where teaching materials are immediately available.
Your profile
You are an experienced Technical Support Engineer who lives and breathes customer satisfaction. You work easily both independently and as part of a team, and you are not afraid of a steep learning curve. You not only solve the problems you encounter but proactively identify the real cause and think ahead to arrive at a structural solution. You are the face of signebreedband.
- Demonstrable relevant work experience in a technical support role (minimum 5 years)
- Solid knowledge of networks and protocols: LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN (IPsec/SSL)
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls and switches (e.g. FortiGate, Cisco)
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English. HBO working and thinking level (or higher)
- Proactive attitude, analytical skills, and the overview to support colleagues
What makes you stand out
- Experience with ISP network environments and carrier-grade infrastructure
- Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
- Cisco CCNA certification (or similar)
- Experience with Linux (command line, bash scripting)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios, Grafana, LibreNMS, Icinga, etc.)
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
